Meet The Trainer:
Zack Zweifel

When NYC finally opened the city parks in July, Coach Zack stepped in to add some strength to our outdoor HIIT CAMP sessions. This proved so popular we moved it to the front of the gym in Small Groups of Three adding Kettlebells and Dumbbells. Now his indoor TRUE STRENGTH sessions are a huge hit with all the tools you need for a solid 45 minute strength session. 6 people only. This class will change your training game.

10 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Where were you born? I was born in Seattle, WA.

Tell us about your fitness background. I have been an athlete all of my life and have always enjoyed using my body to push myself physically. After 10 years of active duty service I left the military to pursue a career in fitness. My first training job was at Equinox in Miami where I worked for a short time. However, I ultimately left and moved to Brooklyn for graduate studies in exercise science. Since moving, I have worked for multiple gyms and continue to train privately.

What's your fitness philosophy? Movement is medicine. Whoever you are, whatever you do, we all need daily movement. Exercise in almost any form is beneficial and a necessity to us all.

You joined the HIIT BOX TEAM at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, how has it changed coaching for you?
HIIT BOX has been fun in that I have been able to get creative and teach group classes. This has helped me to improve my cueing and the ability to lead a group safely and effectively through my programming.

Tell us two things about you that would surprise us? I am a salsa dancer and have performed all over the country! Also, I have sailed around the entire world on a ship thanks to my time in service.

Who would you fight? Who would you hug? Who would you drink a beer with?
Fight: People who litter. Hug: This is a trap, my girlfriend obviously. Beer: Elon Musk.

Rocky Road or Chocolate Chip Mint? Hmm, Rocky Road if I had to choose.

You're shipwrecked and stranded on a desert island, what are the three things you grab?
Water purifier, matches and a knife.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Training professional or collegiate athletes in some form.

Tell us about your TRUE STRENGTH class. Keep strength training simple! I like to think that by coming to my classes you get a lot of my own philosophy towards training and how I myself approach fitness. Lifting weights is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your body, of course you’ll get stronger, but you also improve your cardiorespiratory fitness, improve bone strength, improve circulation, prevent injury, and most of all, feel better!

Welcome Coach Zack! We are excited to have you on the HIIT BOX TEAM. Take 10% off his classes with code: zack10 and please follow him @thelifeofzweiff.
